Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, or related area
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Familiarity with virtual instruction platforms and adaptive technology tools
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students with sensory impairments is strongly preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to individualized education
- Strong communication skills, both with students and collaborating with school teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging virtual instruction in reading and math for a fourth-grade student for 30 minutes each daily session
- Collaborate and consult with district personnel and families to support the student’s IEP goals
- Deliver innovative assistive technology instruction approximately one hour per week, maximizing the student’s access to the curriculum
- Maintain detailed records of progress and participate in virtual meetings as needed
- Adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing assessment and student needs
