Teacher of the Deaf in La Vista, NE

You’ll provide critical educational services and guide students toward achieving their fullest potential.
What you’ll bring:
- Licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (in Nebraska, or eligibility for NE certification)
- Experience teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school-based setting is preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication strategies for DHH students
- Ability to collaborate with students, staff, and families to create accessible, engaging learning experiences
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in grades K-12
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student’s needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, interpreters, and related service providers
- Creating and adapting materials and lessons to ensure access and inclusivity
- Monitoring student progress and conducting assessments
- Participating in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
