An opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to work with elementary students in Green Bay, WI. This contract position offers the chance to support and enhance the educational experience of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by providing expert instruction and interpreting services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with hearing impairments throughout the school day.
- Interpret and facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) in educational settings.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
- Maintain documentation and comply with state education guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education (minimum 48 semester hours) from an accredited institution, OR
- Obtained an associate degree or higher.
- Alternatively, meet a rigorous standard through a formal state or local academic assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability in instructing foundational skills like reading, writing, and math readiness.
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a school environment is highly preferred.
Work Details:
- Location: Onsite in Green Bay, WI.
- Position Type: Contract.
- Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Student caseload primarily elementary age.
