Make an impact in the life of a young learner as a contract educator specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction. This opportunity involves providing consultative services for approximately 30 minutes per week, beginning August 1st, 2026. You will offer vital support for one medically fragile preschool student, ensuring optimal learning pathways and accessibility. Please note, the student’s participation is undetermined; this role may be placed on hold depending on their status.
Key Qualifications:
- Virginia Teaching Certification in Visual Education is required
- DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) Certification necessary
- Experience with preschool-aged children preferred
- Familiarity with consultative teaching methods and individualized support strategies
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative instructional services for a preschool student who is Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with school staff and related service providers to address the unique medical and learning needs of the child
- Develop and adapt learning materials as needed to provide accessible instruction
- Document progress and provide actionable feedback to families and educational partners
- Maintain compliance with all relevant certification requirements and educational standards
