Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Virginia
A consultative position is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education through telehealth services. This role supports a preschool student with significant medical fragility, providing expert guidance and specialized instruction tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering consultative teaching services via telehealth to support a preschooler with hearing impairments
- Collaborating with medical professionals and caregivers to adapt educational strategies based on the student's health status
- Monitoring progress and adjusting approaches in response to the student’s evolving needs
- Maintaining thorough documentation in compliance with educational and healthcare standards
Qualifications:
- Possession of Virginia Teaching Certification in Visual Education
- Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
- Experience in educational services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a consultative or telehealth format
- Strong communication skills suited for remote collaboration and instruction
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to medically fragile students
Job Details:
- Location: Buena Vista, Virginia (telehealth-based)
- Contract role starting August 1, 2026
- Approximately 30 minutes per week of consultative service
- Caseload limited to one preschool student; role continuation contingent on student’s enrollment status
