DHH Teacher | Pleasant View, Tennessee
Make an impact supporting students as a remote Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for a district-wide, contract position in Tennessee. This virtual opportunity allows you to provide specialized instruction to a diverse caseload of 10-15 students, ranging from elementary through high school—all from the comfort of your own home. Your expertise will be valued in this engaging environment, where you’ll work full-time (7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday) throughout the school year. The role focuses on direct instruction, collaboration with educational teams, and advocacy for students’ unique needs, while meeting the high standards required in educational settings.
What we’re looking for:
- Active Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Previous experience in school settings is beneficial (benefits for all experience levels)
- Solid understanding of educational strategies for DHH students, K-12
- Exceptional communication and technology skills for remote teaching
- Commitment to individualized student planning and progress monitoring
- Availability for a prescreen interview (please provide days/times between 9-11 a.m. or 2-3 p.m. EST)
In this role you will:
- Deliver engaging, individualized lessons to elementary through high school students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
- Consult with general educators, families, and related service staff
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Champion accessibility and inclusion in the virtual classroom
Competitive compensation is offered, with pay rates depending on years of experience: $38–50 per hour. A new contract is created for each placement, ensuring your assignment fits your needs.
