Middle School Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Irvington, AL

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH); Master’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) for classroom communication
- Valid Alabama Department of Education (DOE) Certification
- Experience working with middle school students is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to middle school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum materials and utilize technology for enhanced accessibility
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive educational plans
- Track student progress, write and implement IEPs, and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment using bilingual and visual instructional strategies
