Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - New Mexico
This contract opportunity seeks a skilled Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to provide telehealth services to students requiring specialized support. The role is based in Albuquerque, NM, and involves delivering tailored educational instruction and interventions remotely to enhance communication and learning outcomes for students with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting telehealth sessions to assess and support students with hearing loss or auditory processing challenges
- Designing individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on auditory and speech development
- Collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers to implement strategies that promote language acquisition and academic progress
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional approaches as needed
- Maintaining thorough documentation and reports in compliance with educational standards and regulations
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth platforms preferred
