A specialized opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide telehealth services. This role involves delivering remote instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing virtual platforms to enhance their educational experience. The position is structured as a 1099 contract, offering flexibility and autonomy in delivering expert services from a remote location.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and individualized instruction via telepractice methods tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborating with families and school personnel to develop and implement effective communication strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional approaches to meet evolving needs.
- Providing consultation and guidance on assistive technology and hearing devices to optimize learning environments.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Proven experience in delivering telehealth or telepractice services in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of auditory-verbal and visual communication techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students and families remotely.
- Ability to work independently while managing schedules and caseloads responsibly.
Location: Telehealth services provided remotely, with affiliation to a school in Arab, AL.
