A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing providing telehealth services. This role involves delivering high-quality virtual instruction and support tailored to students with hearing impairments, ensuring accessible and effective communication strategies through remote platforms.

Location: Cullman, AL (Telehealth-based)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual assessments and individualized education sessions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement tailored instructional plans that meet students’ unique communication and learning needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support student progress.
  • Utilize telehealth technology effectively to maintain engagement and ensure clear communication.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
  • Provide training and resources to families and staff on best practices for supporting students with hearing challenges.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience delivering instruction and support to deaf or hard of hearing students via telehealth platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of communication modalities, assistive technology, and hearing-related educational strategies.
  • Ability to independently manage caseloads and deliver quality services remotely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with state educational standards and compliance requirements.
