Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Texas
A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services to deliver telehealth instruction. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing remote technology to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss
- Conducting telehealth sessions using appropriate technology to facilitate communication and learning
- Collaborating with families, audiologists, and other professionals to support student progress
- Monitoring and assessing student development to adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Providing resources and training to students and caregivers to enhance learning outside of sessions
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational or therapeutic setting
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms and remote instructional technology
- Strong communication skills, including ability to work with students through virtual media
- Knowledge of auditory, speech, and language development related to hearing impairments
