Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in OR

An opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This contract role is based in Hillsboro, OR, providing a unique chance to deliver specialized instruction remotely and support students with auditory impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized and group instruction via telehealth platforms tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborating with families, educational staff, and related service providers to develop and implement effective communication and learning strategies
• Conducting assessments of auditory, speech, and language skills to inform instructional planning
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation of student progress and service delivery consistent with educational and legal standards
• Providing guidance on assistive technologies and auditory equipment usage in a virtual setting
• Supporting social and emotional development alongside academic growth for students with hearing loss

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Proven experience delivering telehealth education services to students with auditory needs

• Familiarity with assistive technology and hearing aids, including cochlear implants
