Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Vermont
A contract position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with expertise in telehealth services, located in South Burlington, VT. This role supports students with hearing impairments through remote instructional methods, combining specialized teaching techniques with technology to enhance educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver telehealth-based instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique auditory and communication needs
- Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to promote effective communication strategies
- Utilize assistive listening devices and other adaptive technologies in remote learning settings
- Monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches based on student performance and feedback
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with educational and legal requirements
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience with telehealth or remote teaching platforms and strategies
- Strong understanding of audiological assessments and hearing technology
- Ability to create engaging and accessible learning environments for students with hearing challenges
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
