Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Wisconsin
A contract position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing providing telehealth services in the Waukesha, WI area. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing telehealth platforms to facilitate remote learning and communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ hearing and communication needs
- Delivering instruction in language, speech, and auditory skills via telehealth technology
- Collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers to support student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student performance and adjusting instructional plans accordingly
- Providing training and resources to staff and parents on strategies to support deaf/hard of hearing students
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification and licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering telehealth education services
- Strong knowledge of deaf education methodologies and assistive technologies
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with remote teams and families
- Ability to manage caseload and maintain accurate documentation
