Make an impact this summer as an Itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (TOD) during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This contract role offers the opportunity to support students and collaborate with a dedicated team in a dynamic educational setting. Located near Kingston, PA, you will travel to various sites within the intermediate unit to provide direct and consultative services for students with hearing needs.
Program Dates: June 29–August 6
Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays | 8:45am–12:15pm
Weekly Commitment: 10 hours
This summer position provides a pay range of $40–$50 per hour, reflecting your expertise and dedication.
Qualifications:
- Current teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, preferably within elementary or K–12 environments.
- Previous involvement in itinerant teaching or willingness to travel between program locations.
- Proficient communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementation of accommodations or modifications for DHH students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and consultative support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within the ESY program.
- Collaborate with general education staff to promote student success and inclusion.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student progress reporting.
- Implement individualized education plans and adapt teaching methods as needed.
- Support families and staff with resources, recommendations, and communication strategies.
