Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Wilmington, Delaware
This opportunity is for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support a K-12 school program focusing on students with hearing impairments. The position is a full-time ESY (Extended School Year) contract running from ASAP through June 16th, with the possibility to continue into summer school. Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 53 students, ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The teacher will be responsible for implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with school staff, and ensuring that students’ educational needs related to hearing impairment are met. The role may involve travel to meet with students or attend meetings.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or a related field
- Valid standard teaching license applicable to the role
- Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to manage and support a large caseload effectively
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Open to travel and flexible in delivering services virtually when required
