Job Title: Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT)

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Position type: Full-time, onsite 

Caseload: K-12 
 

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with expertise in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing? Soliant is currently seeking a qualified Teacher  for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in the Scottsdale, AZ area for the 2024-25 school year. We offer weekly pay, great benefits, and guaranteed hours! 
 

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing their unique communication and learning needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in language development, literacy, and academic subjects using a variety of specialized instructional strategies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff to ensure the successful inclusion and participation of students in general education settings.
  • Conduct assessments of students' language and communication skills, monitor progress, and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, families, and school staff on strategies for promoting communication and academic success.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students or related field.
  • Valid Arizona teaching license with endorsement in Education for Teaching Deaf Students.
  • Valid Arizona fingerprint card required 
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting preferred
