Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher on behalf of one of our partner schools near Warrington, PA. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and contribute to their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments, in collaboration with other members of the educational team.
- Provide direct instruction to students in areas such as language development, communication skills, literacy, and academic subjects.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and self-advocacy.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of deaf education, and participate in professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education or Special Education (PA certification preferred).
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication modes used by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
