Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and professional Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students with hearing loss across educational settings. The DHH Teacher will provide specialized instruction, communication support, and advocacy to ensure students have equal access to the curriculum and school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students in developing communication skills (ASL, oral, auditory training, or total communication as appropriate)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, SLPs, OTs, and school staff
- Adapt classroom materials to ensure accessibility
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on DHH best practices
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring
- Support inclusion in general education settings
- Advocate for student access to accommodations (FM systems, captioning, interpreters, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Valid Florida teaching certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain
- Knowledge of ASL preferred or willingness to learn
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
