Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and related technology is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with school staff and families to assess and address the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor accommodations and modifications in the classroom
- Provide direct and consultative support to students, promoting language and communication development
- Collaborate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to ensure student success
- Serve as a resource for teachers, offering training and guidance on best practices
