Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Michigan Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Experience working as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Consultant
- Familiarity with K-12 educational settings and relevant disability law
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess needs and develop individualized educational plans for students
- Deliver direct and consultative services to promote engagement and learning
- Provide professional development and resources to staff regarding accessibility and accommodations
- Track student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a liaison among families, school staff, and community resources
- Foster a supportive and accessible school climate for students with hearing loss
