Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License required
- Experience working with K-12 students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher or consultant
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and accommodations tailored for deaf/hard of hearing students
- Ability to work onsite 3-4 days per week
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized consultation and direct support for deaf/hard of hearing students across K-12 classrooms
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate accommodations and technology
- Offer training and guidance to staff on best practices and instructional strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust support as needed to foster academic and social success
