Key Qualifications:
• Experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in school settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Sign-supported communication
• Knowledge of educational best practices for students with hearing differences
• Competency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, families, and students
• Valid state licensure or certification relevant to the role
Primary Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct instructional and support services to K-5 students on your caseload
• Assess auditory and communication needs, tailoring interventions as appropriate
• Consult with teachers and staff to ensure inclusive, accessible learning experiences
• Assist in creating and adapting educational materials to meet individual needs
• Monitor and document student progress, participating in IEP meetings as a specialist
• Provide guidance and advocacy for families, fostering positive relationships
• Stay current on relevant technology and methodologies in deaf education
