Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience providing services to K-5 students in a school environment
- Proficiency in sign language and other communication methods for the deaf/hard of hearing community
- Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent documentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct support services to K-5 students with hearing impairments, focusing on access to curriculum and communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers regarding best practices and accommodations
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports according to district guidelines
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and staff training, as needed
