In this contract role, you’ll focus your expertise on a small caseload of just 8 students, all conveniently located at a single district center. As you empower K-5th graders, you’ll play a pivotal role in their academic and social development—making a real difference every day.

This full-time position requires a commitment of 35 hours per week and offers a competitive compensation between $40-$50 an hour. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026, giving you a rewarding stretch to make a lasting impact.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities for the deaf/hard of hearing
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, staff, and families
  • Understanding of IEP development and implementation for students with hearing-related needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support services to K-5th grade students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to integrate strategies and accommodations
  • Conduct assessments and track progress to inform instructional decisions
  • Guide families and school staff on effective strategies for student success
