Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with school-aged children, especially grades K–5
- Strong knowledge of language development, assistive technologies, and IEP process
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Support a consistent caseload of 8 elementary students, all at one location
- Assess student needs and design individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and support in listening, speech, language, and communication skills
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to ensure accommodations
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation
