Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Turlock, California
Make a difference in students’ lives by providing expert support as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist in a school setting. This is a full-time, onsite position offering 35 hours per week. The role focuses on delivering impactful TDHH services, including both compensatory and consultation functions, along with direct interaction with students. You’ll work within a supportive educational environment helping to promote accessible learning and student success for individuals with hearing differences.
You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with school teams and advocate for students’ unique needs. Creating inclusive classroom environments and ensuring proper accommodations are cornerstones of this rewarding assignment.
Qualifications:
- Current California credential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential for California
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to fostering equity and accessibility in education
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative TDHH services to students as specified in individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Deliver compensatory services and document progress
- Partner with general and special education staff to support student inclusion
- Offer expertise to families and educators regarding accommodations and communication strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely records of services rendered
