Teacher of the Deaf | South San Francisco, California
This full-time position offers an opportunity to support students with hearing impairments across K-12 grades during the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires a dedicated professional to provide specialized instruction and support as an itinerant Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, serving multiple school sites with mileage reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across K-12 settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective communication strategies and accommodations.
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
- Travel between two school sites, ensuring consistent educational support and resource provision.
- Utilize knowledge of assistive technology and auditory rehabilitation techniques to enhance student learning.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
