Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent state licensure
- Proven experience working as a Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, ideally in a school setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress tracking for DHH students
- Proficiency with assistive listening devices, communication modalities, and technology to enhance access to curriculum
- Collaborative skills for working with educators, families, and ancillary service providers
- Ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse communication needs, including sign language and oral approaches
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver focused, individualized instruction to students with hearing differences in accordance with IEP goals
- Provide direct virtual (voco) DHH support on a prn schedule, approximately 30 to 45 minutes daily
- Consult with classroom teachers to adapt materials and methodologies for improved accessibility
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation on services provided
- Offer guidance to families and staff on effective strategies and technology to support student success
- Act as an advocate for students, ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities
