- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with students across a range of ages and abilities
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, including families, general education staff, and related service providers
- Proven ability to create and adapt lesson plans and materials for diverse learners
- Organizational skills and resourcefulness in managing caseloads and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to D/HH students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Assess students’ language, academic, and social-emotional needs, and regularly monitor progress
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
- Provide consultation and training to staff regarding effective strategies and accommodations
- Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community resources to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation promptly
