Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Certification and licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (valid for Wyoming or eligible for reciprocity)
- Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school-based setting
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, auditory training, and communication modalities (such as ASL, oral, or total communication)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, speech-language pathologists, educational staff, and families
- Commitment to individualized education and evidence-based instructional strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible, adaptive, and passionate about student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional support to students with hearing loss
- Implement and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with interdisciplinary teams
- Support development of auditory, speech, language, and academic skills
- Advocate for student accommodations and accessibility within classroom and school settings
- Deliver in-service training to staff on hearing loss, assistive devices, and inclusion practices
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring
- Engage families in their child’s educational progress and foster collaborative relationships
