Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid state teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience teaching or working with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school setting.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used by Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for hearing accessibility is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with hearing differences, adapting curriculum as necessary.
- Collaborate with general educators and specialists to provide integrated services.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise on hearing accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize learning.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and faculty.
