This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday) starts as soon as possible and runs through late May 2026. You’ll benefit from a supportive atmosphere and the satisfaction of empowering students to reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current and active Tennessee DOE teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with school-aged students, K-12, strongly preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload that may change according to student needs
- Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible learning environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel between assigned schools as needed
- Background check and fingerprinting (district arranges fingerprint scheduling)
- School-based experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and educational support to K-12 students with hearing impairments
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school staff and families
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse communication needs
- Serve as a resource to other educators and offer expertise in accommodations and modifications
- Monitor and report student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate records
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
