The assignment runs from July 27, 2026, through May 25, 2027, providing approximately 20 hours per week to deliver specialized instruction and support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education – Deaf Education (P–12), OR Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Strong understanding of current instructional strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and educational support to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
- Design and adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and IEP goals
- Monitor student progress and maintain timely documentation
- Serve as a collaborative resource for general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Advocate for student access and accommodations within the school setting
