Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education – Deaf Education (P–12)
OR
Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement required - Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and relevant documentation
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel between school sites as assigned
- Previous experience in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education strongly preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to students with hearing impairments according to individualized plans
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom strategies to optimize student learning
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to facilitate inclusion
- Advocate for accessible resources and accommodations to promote student success
- Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate records
- Participate in IEP meetings, family conferences, and professional development
