Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred.
- Proficiency with sign language or other accessible communication modalities.
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with general education staff, students, and families.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet students’ unique needs and individual learning plans.
- A positive, resourceful approach and strong communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a variety of age groups.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Foster a supportive, safe, and effective classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
