Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Pleasant View, TN
This full-time role is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support K-12 students in the Nashville area suburbs. The position requires providing specialized instructional services tailored to the individual needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, with caseloads varying by assignment and service requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver appropriate educational services and interventions to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades K-12.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Participate in meetings, assessments, and documentation as mandated by district and state guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing, certification, and district policies related to the provision of DHH services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification specifically for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably within school settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage students, families, and educational teams.
- Ability to complete required background and fingerprinting procedures as part of credentialing.
- Willingness to work onsite full-time Monday through Friday.
Location and Schedule:
- Position is based onsite in the northern Nashville suburban area.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Assignment term runs from ASAP through May 20, 2026.
