Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Experience working with students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), cued speech, or other communication modalities
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide direct and consultative instructional support in a variety of educational settings
- Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies accordingly
- Educate and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote effective instructional methods
- Advocate for students’ educational needs and inclusion within the school community
