Key Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
- Proficiency with assistive technology, auditory/oral, and/or total communication approaches
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) preferred
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills for dynamic school settings
- Passion for advocating for students’ access and success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEPs
- Adapt curriculum and teaching materials to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, parents, and other service providers to ensure student support
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in eligibility and annual IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all
- Provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications as needed
