Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Saginaw, Minnesota

Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (as required by state guidelines)
- Experience working with school-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities used by students
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with general educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of assistive listening technology and instructional strategies
- Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a student-centered approach
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt and modify curriculum and classroom materials to meet individual student needs
- Facilitate communication access and advocate for students within the school setting
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to ensure best practices and effective accommodations
- Promote self-advocacy and independence in students
