DHH Teacher | Covington, Kentucky
Make a difference supporting students with hearing differences as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on a part-time, contract basis. This rewarding role provides services district-wide, allowing you to work with a diverse group of students and have a sizable impact across various school settings. You’ll begin part-time with the strong possibility of transitioning to full-time, giving you the chance to increase your involvement as the year progresses.
Key Qualifications:
- HI (Hearing Impaired) certification required
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Ability to adapt educational materials and modify strategies to best meet each child’s unique needs
- Comfortable traveling between schools within the district
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and/or consultation to approximately 8 students, spanning multiple grade levels and varying levels of hearing ability
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster inclusive learning environments
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collect data on student progress
- Provide recommendations and resources to staff on accessible communication techniques and technologies
- Advocate for student success in both academic and social settings
