Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various schools in the district
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique learning needs
- Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to ensure inclusive, accessible classroom environments
- Employ a range of communication modalities, technology, and instructional strategies to maximize student engagement and learning
- Offer guidance and education for staff and families to support student progress
- Track student goals, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices in deaf education
Ideal qualifications:
- Current HI certification required
- Demonstrated experience supporting students who are deaf/hard of hearing in K-12 educational environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with diverse communication methods (ASL, oral, total communication, etc.)
- Experience working district-wide and traveling between school sites is a plus
