Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee
Step into a rewarding remote opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position features a full-time, district-wide caseload across elementary through high school students, delivered via VOCO (virtual) services. You'll collaborate with a supportive educational team, designing and implementing individualized instruction to empower learners with hearing challenges.
What you’ll need:
- Active Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Experience supporting deaf or hard of hearing students in K-12 settings (all experience levels are considered)
- Proficiency in virtual/VOCO teaching platforms, or willingness to learn
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments
- Availability for prescreen interviews via video on weekdays between 9-11am or 2-3pm EST (flexibility available)
In this role, you will:
- Provide direct instruction to a caseload of 10-15 deaf/hard of hearing students across multiple grade levels
- Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Consult regularly with general and special education staff
- Offer guidance and resources to families and educators regarding deaf education best practices
- Maintain accurate records and participate in virtual meetings
- Serve as a resource for district-wide remote services
