Seeking a motivated educator who is passionate about fostering inclusion and empowering students with diverse communication needs. Details regarding the specific caseload will be provided prior to placement, allowing you to prepare and adapt your instructional strategies for maximum impact.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Current certification and/or licensure to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students in K-12 settings who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in sign language or other communication modalities
- Able to develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials for varied learning needs
- Strong collaboration skills with general educators and support staff
- Committed to ongoing professional growth and advocacy for students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver educational programming tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, supporting academic and social success
- Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure individualized education plan (IEP) goals are met
- Employ a range of engagement strategies, including visual and tactile communication techniques
- Monitor and document student progress, making timely adjustments to teaching as needed
- Support classroom accommodations and environmental modifications for optimal learning
