Teacher of the Deaf in Pecos, NM

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience serving students with hearing impairments, preferably in a school setting
- Strong foundation in American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral strategies, and assistive technology
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Comfortable adapting to diverse learning needs and flexible to changing caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels (caseload details to be determined)
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress and foster an inclusive classroom experience
- Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to meet individual student needs
- Promote language development, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth for students
- Maintain all required documentation and compliance with educational guidelines
