DHH Teacher | Hamilton, Ohio

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience or training in educational settings with students from kindergarten through fourth grade
- Strong understanding of audiological issues, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for children with hearing loss
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to each child’s needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services in accordance with each student’s IEP
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote academic achievement and language access
- Provide input for IEP development and updates, and monitor progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service staff to maximize inclusion
- Support parents and caregivers with strategies to reinforce learning at home
- Foster a welcoming environment that empowers students and encourages self-advocacy
