Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or comparable licensure
  • Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Proven experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse hearing needs
  • Ability to adapt curriculum content and teaching techniques per individual student needs
  • Passion for cultivating supportive, inclusive environments for learners with hearing differences
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in individual and group settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, interpreters, and administrators to facilitate effective inclusion
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with educational standards
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for success
  • Advocate for accessible resources, technologies, and accommodations for students
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation for staff to optimize student outcomes
