Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or comparable licensure
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Proven experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse hearing needs
- Ability to adapt curriculum content and teaching techniques per individual student needs
- Passion for cultivating supportive, inclusive environments for learners with hearing differences
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, interpreters, and administrators to facilitate effective inclusion
- Develop, monitor, and adjust Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with educational standards
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for success
- Advocate for accessible resources, technologies, and accommodations for students
- Provide ongoing support and consultation for staff to optimize student outcomes
