Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience in educational or school-based settings, preferably working directly with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Proficiency with relevant assistive technology and instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to create and adapt individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving caseload needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting materials and curriculum as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and progress monitoring
- Advocate for accessible resources and accommodations
- Contribute to a positive, respectful educational atmosphere
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
