Position Overview The Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) will provide direct and consultative services to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have hearing impairments. The DHH Teacher will collaborate with educational teams, families, and service providers to support students’ academic progress, communication development, and access to the curriculum. Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring
Consult with school staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology
Support students' communication needs, including spoken language, sign language, and auditory skills as appropriate
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and district requirements
Partner with families to promote student success across educational settings
Travel between school sites as needed within the district

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
Active Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing licensure/certification
Experience working with school-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
Knowledge of IEP development and special education regulations
Familiarity with assistive listening devices and communication supports
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Position Details
Schedule: Part Time (18-20 Hours per Week)
Setting: Onsite (School-Based)
Location: Longmeadow, MA
School Year: 2026-2027
