DHH Teacher | Peabody, Massachusetts

In this contract role, you’ll collaborate with school teams and serve approximately 43 students, balancing both direct and consultative services—primarily focusing on empowering staff and fostering students’ access and success.
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license or endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or closely related field
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Familiarity with school-based settings preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of state and district requirements for deaf and hard-of-hearing services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and related service providers to deliver consultative services
- Help optimize student access to instruction, communication, and school activities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational programming
- Support and educate school staff on best practices, accommodations, and assistive technology
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in line with district and state guidelines
