Bring your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to a dynamic part-time position for the 2026/2027 academic year. This contract opportunity is ideal for an educator dedicated to supporting approximately 43 students, ranging from Pre-K to age 22, through a blend of direct instruction and consultative services. You’ll collaborate closely with school personnel, delivering impactful consultative support that empowers teachers and staff to foster student growth and classroom access. The majority of your caseload will focus on consultative services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license or endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Bachelor’s or master’s in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- School-based experience preferred
- Familiarity with state and district requirements for deaf and hard of hearing services
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing and consultative services to classroom staff
- Support student access to classroom activities and communication
- Develop, monitor, and implement IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Conduct or assist in student assessments and help monitor educational progress
- Collaborate with teachers, families, interpreters, audiologists, and other service providers
- Recommend appropriate accommodations, assistive technology, and instructional techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and communication
