A rewarding part-time contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role supports students from Pre-K through age 22, primarily through consultative services, with a smaller portion of direct instruction. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school staff, ensuring students who are deaf or hard of hearing have full access to quality education and the support they need to succeed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts teaching license or appropriate endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Demonstrated experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Previous school-based experience is highly valued
- Meet all state and district requirements for providing deaf and hard-of-hearing services
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students as needed
- Provide consultative services to classroom teachers and staff
- Help ensure student access to instruction and classroom communication
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning
- Support assessment and evaluation processes
- Monitor progress and maintain timely documentation
- Collaborate with families, teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and related service providers
- Recommend appropriate accommodations and instructional strategies
- Advise staff on students’ hearing and communication needs
