A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position offers a part-time schedule spanning three days per week, focusing on both direct instruction and consultative services for approximately 43 students ranging from Pre-K through age 22. Ideal candidates combine expertise in deaf education with solid collaboration skills, benefiting diverse learners within a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts teaching license or appropriate endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • School-based experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to meet all state and district requirements for deaf and hard of hearing services

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with hearing needs
  • Provide consultative support and resources to classroom teachers and staff
  • Ensure effective access to classroom instruction and communication for students
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals, participate in meetings, and assist in assessments
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, interpreters, audiologists, and additional related service providers
  • Recommend accommodations and assistive technology tailored to student needs
  • Maintain timely, confidential documentation and contribute to educational planning
